Free Narcan Saving Lives


By Panhandle Public Health District

The Nebraska Pharmacy Association in partnership with local pharmacies participating in the Statewide Naloxone Program continues to provide Narcan without a prescription and free of charge to Nebraska residents. Narcan 4mg (naloxone) is a life-saving nasal spray medication used to reverse the effects of opioid overdose.

As of March 31, 2023, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that naloxone 4mg nasal spray will be available to purchase over-the-counter without a prescription. The manufacturer of Narcan (naloxone) nasal spray has yet to release a timeline for availability and pricing for over-the-counter purchase. We encourage Nebraska patients and caregivers to take advantage of the availability of no-cost Narcan.

Calling all volunteers!

Make a difference at Scotts Bluff National Monument by volunteering in the Badlands Cleanup at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th.

Participants will help remove litter from the badlands area of the monument and look for evidence of fossils as well. To participate, call the monument at 308-436-9700 to register.

Volunteers must be at least 13 years old and capable of lifting up to 20 lbs. and walking up to two miles on steep, uneven terrain. Tools and safety training will be provided.

3:14 pm – Semi off the road


3:39 pm – Gering fire dispatch for a gas leak


3:52 pm – animal complaint police station, heading to PHS


4: 50 pm – ATV rollover resulted in the trauma team for 11 year old


5:37 pm – disturbance rp says verbal only but gave invalid address and won’t say if any drugs alcohol or weapons are involved. I thought they said Sandburg Rd. Male and female involved. They said there is a camper in the yard.


5:61 pm – Silver trailblazer at Gasamat has male and female under the influence and has open container. Vehicle now east bound South Beltline.


5:55 pm – 911 call East 17th and 13th apartments


6:07 pm – Intoxicated male at Subway


9:56 pm – Intoxicated male broke window in 700 block of East overland. Fled on foot and is now laying in the street a couple trailers down.


Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
