(AURORA, Neb.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol located nearly 170 pounds of cocaine and arrested one person after an incident in central Nebraska last week.
Nice work by NSP K9 Tilt last week to both sniff out nearly 170 lbs of cocaine in a vehicle and also find the suspect who had fled and was hiding in a nearby field.

In the late evening of Tuesday, January 13, 2026, a trooper observed a suspicious person at a gas station at the Aurora interchange, at mile marker 332 on Interstate 80. When the trooper attempted to contact the man, the man abandoned his vehicle and ran off.
Troopers searched the area with assistance from the Aurora Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. While the search was ongoing, an NSP K-9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the man’s vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 169 pounds of cocaine contained in large duffle bags, as well as 89 grams of heroin.
After several hours of searching, an NSP K-9 was able to track the suspect to a location south of I-80, approximately one-half mile away from the gas station, where the suspect was taken into custody. He was identified as Manjot Singh, 25, of Sacramento, California.
Singh was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, and obstructing a peace officer. He was lodged in Hamilton County Jail.

Meet K9 Tilt
September 11, 2024
(LINCOLN, Neb.) — A Nebraska State Trooper and K9 have received a national honor for their work with the Nebraska State Patrol SWAT Team.
Trooper Austin Donner and K9 Tilt were awarded the K9 SWAT Deployment Award by the National Tactical Officers Association. The NTOA made the presentation Monday at their annual conference, held this year in Kansas City.
“Our Police Service Dog handlers and K9s provide tremendous value for our SWAT Team,” Captain Dain Hicks, Commander of NSP Special Operations, said. “The skill these teams demonstrate on a regular basis is outstanding, no matter the situation. Trooper Donner and Tilt are well deserving of this recognition.”
Trooper Donner has been a K9 handler for six years and has been a member of the NSP SWAT Team for seven years. Tilt has been assigned to Trooper Donner for three years. Tilt is a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, named in honor of decorated U.S. Army Special Forces MACV-SOG veteran John Stryker “Tilt” Meyer.
