Critical Fire Training

SFD 1

With the abundance of fire warnings, it is critical for our fire departments to be well prepared. Area departments have done an exceptional job keeping up with their training in order comebat such incidences as the Carter Canyon Fire and others.

Let’s take a look at a recent post from the Scottsbluff Fire Department and some information from the National Weather Service and NATWARC.

From Scottsbluff Fire Department

Last week, our four probationary firefighters were able to join in on some live fire training.

A local Firefighter 1 class was spending the evening preparing for their live fire testing and invited our newest members to join them.

Our firefighters were able to observe fire dynamics in a controlled environment and also practice different fire attacks and hydraulic ventilation.

A special thank you to Gering Fire Department for hosting!

Critical fire concerns for today as dry conditions combine with strong winds.

Snow then arrives on Tuesday with generally under an inch of accumulations.
