Last time we read together we covered lessons learned from Joseph’s example.
- Do not let anyone know what someone said about you or did to you?
- Do not allow anyone to be afraid of you or intimidated by you.
- We will want them to forgive themselves and not feel guilty.
But there’s more. Let’s cover those tonight.
We will let them save face.

Saving face. It is what God lets us do.
For one who totally forgives from the heart, there is little self-righteousness. Two reasons we are able to forgive are:
- We see what we ourselves have been forgiven of
- We see whar we are capable of
When we truly see ourselves as we are, we will recognize that we are just as capable of committing any sin as anyone else.

We will protect them from their greatest fear.
Sin that is under the blood of out soveriegn Redeemer does not need to be confessed to anyone but God.

To hold another person in perpetual fear by threatening, “I’ll tell on you,” will quickly bring down the wrath of God.
It is a lifelong committment.

What Joseph had done seventeen years before still held good; he was prepared to care for his brothers indefinitely.
We will pray for them to be blessed.
Total forgiveness involves an additional element: praying for God’s blessings to rain on the lives of your offenders.
