A welcome to spring with a little thing that R.P. calls "Showdown AtSnowdrift Corral"

R.P. was woken up by an idea at 3 in the morning earlier in week, thismorning we see what a brand new piece that he calls "Son Rise" soundslike by the light of day.

R.P. Shares some memories of a good friend Clarence Lanka, and an early poem "Dinosaur Egg"

This week River-dale Jake Riley joins R.P. on Homegrown sharing anautobiographical poem, which means he was working on it in the pickupwhile being given a ride home from a cowboy job and memorableexperience,   Jake calls this one "Bomb Cyclone".

This morning R.P. is working his way back from the Cache Valley Musicand Poetry Festival in Logan Utah, and thought he would share one thathe practiced out west "The Ranchers Wife".

In the past month and a half R.P. has attended 4 cowboy poetrygatherings, and was reminded of the wealth of cowboy poetry passed on byour predecessors, this morning he shares a Classic poem from BruceKiskaddon "The Broncho Twister's Prayer"

This week R.P. gets a little help with chores before heading to the LoneStar Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Alpine Texas, his son Caleb joins him onHomegrown to share a new song that he has titled "Between the Ivory andthe Iron'.
