#419 – We All Have Unique Talents; Potential Day 1

LISTEN to this devotional!

Potential (Day 1 of 7) from YouVersion, read by Andi and Brian Hale

Our gifts are given to us by God. Talents are what we have that we can give back to Him.

Some of you may have talents you haven’t even begun to discover yet, but we are all created with things we are good at. They won’t be the same as others’ talents. Some of you will be good at drawing, while others of you may be good at singing or acting. And some of you are really good at sports.

What we shouldn’t do is compare our gifts and talents to other people’s. Don’t focus on what you don’t have that others do, focus on what gifts and talents God has given you.

It will take practice. We can and will get better at our gifts and talents the longer we spend on them.

Discover your talents, and start to figure out how you can use them for God and for His glory.

‘As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: ‘ 1 Peter 4:10

‘Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. ‘ 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
