Train Tipped By Winds

(GIBBON, Neb.) — With frequent news of train derailments, the public has begun questioning why we are having so many. However, this time, it appears that Mother Nature had her hand in it.

The consensus seems to be that this was probably due to high wind.

Two separate sources have shared with me that a train derailed between Kearney and Gibbon early this morning (Tuesday). The road (Highway 30) is not blocked.

The storm also caused a train derailment west of Gibbon at a crossing that we use a lot going to the plant at Gibbon. Lots of wind, marble size hail, and some cloud rotation this morning…
