(LIMON, Colo.) — On Friday, May 3, 2024, the U.S. Marshals and Federal Bureau of Investigation contacted members of the Limon Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol and alerted them of an armed and dangerous fugitive in the Limon area.
Surveillance and planning commenced within minutes for a coordinated and controlled operation. Safeguards were put in place, long before any contact teams approached the area.
At sunset, a team of Sheriff’s Deputies, Limon Police Officers, Hugo Marshal, and members of the Colorado State Patrol approached the KS Motel, located in the 300 block of Main Street in Limon. Tactical Operators converged and controlled the area, at which time, commands began from an armored vehicle. The suspect, who is not being identified at this time, due to the nature of the crimes being alleged, surrendered peacefully and without incident.
While conducting the operation, another wanted fugitive, which they had been searching for, was located and taken into custody nearby. Both parties were taken to the Lincoln County Jail for processing.
There were approximately 20 Lincoln County Law Enforcement Officers involved in this successful operation. At no time was there a threat to our community.
