(LINCOLN COUNTY, Colo.) — Too close for comfort. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Cole Britton was assisting a broken down motorist and was directing traffic and assisting the motorist, who was unable to move his vehicle.
Sgt. Britton positioned his patrol car behind the disabled vehicle, with his emergency lights activated. He observed a motorist approaching rapidly and realized a collision was inevitable. They were able to run out of the collision path to safety.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital, and the crash is being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol.
