Sidney Notice

From Sidney Police Department

To Our Valued Residents,

Please be advised that the Sidney Police Department will be conducting several training operations at North Elementary throughout the month of November.

These training exercises are designed to enhance the skills and capabilities of our officers. By simulating various scenarios, from basic police tactics to complex emergency situations, we aim to improve our response times and overall effectiveness in serving our community.

As part of these training exercises, you may notice an increased presence of law enforcement vehicles from SPD, Kimball Pd, CCSO, NSP, including Emergency medical services and Fire department resources. Additionally, training firearms and simulated threats may be utilized.

Please be assured that these activities are strictly for training purposes and pose no threat to public safety.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain the highest standards of public safety in our community.”

Additionally, we would like to thank the Sidney public school district for allowing us this opportunity to improve ourselves using their facilities.

Interim Chief of Police

The Sidney Police Department is excited to announce the successful completion of the first phase of our three-part training program.

We extend our thanks to the Kimball Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, and Cheyenne County Emergency Communication Center for their participation.

Additionally, we appreciate the dedication of our citizen role-players who added a realistic element to our training exercises.

This valuable experience has provided our officers with the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately benefiting our community.
