High Wind Watch

(CHEYENNE, Wyo.) — New High Wind Watches have been issued for portions of southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska along I-25 and I-80 for tonight through Monday.

Winds pick up from west to east with gusts between 60 and 70 mph possible in these locations. Please refer to attached graphic for likely high wind onset at specific locations. The High Wind Warning for Arlington remains in effect until 5pm Monday.

Use caution if driving light weight or high profile vehicles along the interstate during these times, this includes campers.

A storm system will bring precipitation to much of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa Monday and Monday night.

Rain is expected during the day on Monday as temperatures will be in the 40s.

As temperatures drop Monday evening and night, rain will change to a wintry mix, and then snow from northwest to southeast.

Accumulations will be light, as warm ground temperatures will cause snow to melt once it hits the surface, potential for several hours after snow begins. Nonetheless, measurable snow will still be possible particularly across northeast Nebraska.

Snowfall amounts will likely remain under an inch, though some isolated pockets of 1-2 inches of snow will be possible.
