Armed and Dangerous Apprehended

JEREMY TAYLOR IN CUSTODY

At around 4:30 p.m. on February 4th, law enforcement located Mr. Taylor in an outbuilding near a residence in Fall River County. He was subsequently apprehended safely and taken into custody for his outstanding warrant out of Ohio (Gross Sexual Contact), in addition to his Pennington County warrants for Eluding and Simple Assault on Law Enforcement.

His apprehension is the result of hundreds of personnel-hours, and law enforcement working around the clock across a multitude of agencies, including the U.S. Marshals, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Rapid City Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Fall River County Sheriff’s Office, Hot Springs Police Department, Hot Springs Ambulance, Pennington County Dispatch, U.S. Forest Service, and Mt. Rushmore Park Rangers, with the common goal of his safe apprehension.

The RCPD and the PCSO would also like to take this opportunity to express our collective gratitude for the public’s support during the search. Dozens of tips were received throughout the search, aiding in the ongoing investigation. On behalf of everyone involved in the search, we are gracious to bring this incident to a safe resolution.


(RAPID CITY, S.D.) — According to News Channel Nebraska, authorities say Taylor has not yet been found, but additional resources from the U.S. Marshals Service are now helping with the search.

As part of that assistance, the U.S. Marshals Service has committed an additional $2,500 to the reward for information that results in Taylor’s arrest. That adds to an existing $2,000 reward previously issued by Rapid City police and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office through the Community Reward Fund, bringing the total to $4,500.

UPDATE: Key locations of interest within the area of 1200 N. LaCrosse Street and the 700 block of E. Anamosa Street have been searched and cleared. Law enforcement will remain in the area. The public is still asked to be on the lookout for Jeremy Taylor and report any suspicious activity.

Additionally, law enforcement is currently investigating how Taylor may have obtained transport to Rapid City, with potential criminal charges applied to anyone who willingly assists a fugitive evade capture.

ORIGINAL POST: Based on new information recieved in the ongoing search for Jeremy Taylor, law enforcement has reason to believe he may have obtained a ride into Rapid City this afternoon, and is may be in the area of 1200 North LaCrosse Street/700 block of East Anamosa Street. There is currently a large law enforcement presence in the area working to follow up on this information.

Taylor should be still considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Call 911 if he is encountered. We appreciate the public’s ongoing support as we work to track down Taylor. Updates will be issued as appropriate.
