Alignment is built

From Alignment: Living What You Believe by Angie Murenga on YouVersion

Alignment doesn’t just happen. It is built.

And one of the biggest ways we build it is through renewing our minds.

Why the Internal Battle Exists.

Sometimes the tension you feel is because what you read in the Bible has not yet become your reality. And that’s okay, it takes time. But you have to start.

The more I began to read Scripture not just to finish it but to understand it, I started asking: What does this say about God? What does this say about me? And as I sat with it, meditated on it, let it settle, it began to reshape what I actually believe.

Becoming Fully Persuaded

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul says in Romans 8:38–39 that nothing can separate us from the love of God. But notice how he introduces it: “For I am persuaded…” — Romans 8:38

That didn’t happen overnight. He sat with it. He wrestled with it. He became convinced. Conviction is not downloaded. It is built through time spent with the truth.

Transformation Is Daily

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This is not a one-time event. It is daily work; choosing truth over lies, God’s Word over feelings, alignment over convenience.

If you want to resolve the disconnect between what you believe and how you live, it starts in your mind. Align your beliefs with truth. Then watch your actions follow.

Reflection

  • What beliefs about God or myself need to change?
  • What truths from Scripture do I need to sit with longer?
  • Am I rushing through the Word or allowing it to transform me?

Prayer

Lord, renew my mind. Help me move beyond surface-level reading into deep understanding. Teach me to meditate on Your Word until it becomes real in my life.

Break every lie I have believed about You and about myself. Replace it with truth. Help me become fully persuaded of who You are and who You say I am.

Transform me from the inside out. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
