Teacher Arrested for Sexual Assault

(YORK, Neb.) — On Sunday July 19, 2026, York County Nebraska Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a concerned individual alleging a potentially inappropriate relationship between a minor child and former educator.

The individual identified the suspect as Nathaniel Acton, 33, of York, Nebraska. Coordination began with BraveBe Child Advocacy Center and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, where further investigative information was gathered.

As a result of the investigation, probable cause was developed to issue an arrest warrant for Acton, and a search warrant for his residences was obtained. Both warrants were served simultaneously on Tuesday July 21, 2026, and Acton was taken into custody without incident.

No further information about this case will be released due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.

Nathaniel Acton was lodged at York County Corrections for the following offenses:

First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child
First Degree Sexual Assault
Child Enticement
Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
Third Degree Sexual Assault of a Child
Third Degree Sexual Assault
Intentional Child Abuse

Last night, Scanner traffic indicated in Gering near Ponderosa Drive, a third party from Colorado had requested a welfare check on her sister in reference to the statements that she made.
