Welcome to the Cattleman’s Corner.
I’m Brian Hale sitting in for the late Howard Hale as we continue his legacy of speaking with cattlemen and women from around the globe. The Cattleman’s Corner is sponsored by the American Gelbvieh Association. Learn more about the Gelvbieh Advantage and the Balancer Traits at gelbvieh.org. Our co-host David Woodruff from Alberta, Canada, has Nathan Cummins on the phone today.
They’re talking about the Cowboy Poetry Gathering that they recently attended and participated in. Let’s listen in to that conversation. You know, this is my first time going to one, but I think more people need to hear.
The stories that are being told just seem to tie you back to the roots of Western society. Yes, yes. In my opinion, and so that was kind of the thing that inspired me the most, is these guys just really working on that craft to tie us back to our roots.
And I thought that was really neat. Self-reliance and helping your neighbor. Putting those two together, that’s a strange mix, isn’t it? But still.
One aspect that I think I probably, that I haven’t talked about yet, that I thought was probably one of the best aspects of it, the comedy. Yes. The comedy in poetry, in Western poetry.
Some of the comedy involved in that was just, it was fantastic. Yeah. Yeah.
People were laughing. It was just, it was great. Is there anything that you think that we should do for another year? Like I say, it would be very neat if we could get more people out to it.
That would be fun. The venue is great, but there was a few empty seats. You know, I mean, there was a lot of people there, but there was a few empty seats.
I don’t know how we go about encouraging more people to come. So we’ll encourage you to attend the next Cowboy Poetry Gathering that you have the opportunity to do so. That’s going to do it for today’s Cattleman’s Corner.
Thanks again for listening, and may God bless. I’m Brian Hale.
