Tragic Grain Bin Incident

(ASHTON, Neb.) — On July 28, 2026 Region 26 Emergency Management and 911 Dispatch received a 911 call at 1707 hrs requesting grain bin extrication equipment at a location south of Ashton, Ne. Several local fire departments were paged to assist with manpower and equipment. These departments included Ashton Fire, Loup City Fire, Rockville Fire, Arcadia Fire, Farwell Fire, Boelus Fire, Ashton-Rockville-Loup City Coop Ambulance, and AirCare.

The individual was located and recovered from the grain bin. Pending next of kin notification the name will not be released.
