Align Your Heart with Heaven

As you choose stillness in the midst of chaos—both within you and around you—begin to align your heart with heaven.

Colossians 3:2 (NIV) says,“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” As a believer, you are called to live from a Kingdom perspective—one that recognizes God’s hand even when circumstances seem uncertain. What happens in the natural often reflects what is taking place in the spiritual.

In Daniel 10, Daniel was faithfully praying on earth, unaware that in the spiritual realm, there was opposition delaying the answer to his prayers. While he remained persistent, God was already at work behind the scenes.

In the same way, do not be moved only by what you see. Instead, align your heart, your prayers, and your perspective with heaven’s agenda. This is where you boldly pray,“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, NIV).

It is easy to become consumed with frustration—over the state of the world, rising costs, personal setbacks, or unexpected loss. But dwelling in those emotions can cloud your perspective and magnify the problem rather than the One who holds the solution.

Instead, go to God in sincere prayer. Seek His will above your own. Choose His way over the world’s way. In 1 John 5 we are reminded that when we ask according to His will, He hears us—and He responds.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. – 1 John 5:14-15

• In what areas of my life do I need to surrender my will to God’s will?
• What does God’s Kingdom perspective say about what I’m facing?
• Am I seeking outcomes, or am I seeking alignment with God?
