HUSA Oct 5 2026 – Harvest Roundup

Let’s find out what’s going on in the harvest world. Neumiller Harvesting is in North Dakota reporting that the soybean harvest is in full swing across North Dakota. We got some great pictures there on our Harvest USA Facebook page.

Thacker Harvesting reports that their grain cart operator Brayden is doing a great job on the Saskatchewan crew, keeping the combines rolling the last two weeks up there.

Heil Harvesting LLC had a good point. They wrote, there’s a lot of concern about the growing season that the millet hadn’t gotten enough moisture to actually produce grain, and sadly many fields did not. Now that the millet really doesn’t need rain, the annual monsoon showers have begun. We’ve been blessed so far to be in areas of dry weather so the swathers can keep rolling. While every farmer in this area is thinking of planting next year’s wheat crop and desperately needs rain, those with millet in the field get pretty anxious when the clouds start to form. The hard rain and gusty winds associated with these storms can knock nearly ripe millet seeds out of the plant heads and scatter them on the ground where they’re lost. That is extremely disappointing and discouraging, and it’s a major reason that millet swathing is so time critical. Laying the crop in the window protects it from that type of loss. When the millet’s ready, it has to go down. A little educational information there from Heil Harvesting LLC.

The National Association of Wheat Growers CEO attended North American Millers Association’s annual meeting this week to provide an update on the wheat industry, highlight NOG’s advocacy efforts, and discuss how millers and wheat growers can work together to strengthen and advance the wheat industry. Another opportunity to connect with industry partners and continue building collaboration across the wheat value chain.

That’s going to do it for today’s Harvest USA report. Thanks again for listening and may God bless. I’m Brian Hale.
