HUSA Oct 6 2026 – Kip Campbell

Farming Operations: Kip Campbell from Bancroft, Idaho, is involved primarily in cattle farming, with no grain cultivation. He is currently setting up hot wire fencing to pasture cows on fields including alfalfa and orchard grass, which do not grow tall enough for a third cut in the fall.

Weather Impacts: The year has been characterized by a dry spring and summer, which adversely affected the pasture yield, followed by a wet fall. Such unpredictable weather patterns influence the farming operations and yield.

Pasture Management: Campbell takes precautions against bloat in cattle pastured on alfalfa by using bloat-preventing blocks containing a surfactant that breaks down gas-forming bubbles.
