Story from Platte Valley Media Group
Hy-Vee has introduced its month-long campaign dedicated to honoring the military heroes within its communities. Each November, Hy-Vee pays tribute to veterans and active-duty military personnel through its Hy-Vee Homefront initiative, which encompasses fundraising efforts and a complimentary Veterans Day breakfast.
On Friday, November 10, Hy-Vee will host its annual Veterans Day Breakfast. Across its eight-state region, all Hy-Vee stores will provide veterans and active-duty military members with a free buffet-style breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Also on Friday, veterans and active-duty military personnel can enjoy a 15% discount on their grocery purchases when they shop at Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market, and Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations.
Hy-Vee Homefront Round Up represents the company’s annual fundraising effort, during which it collaborates with customers to raise funds in support of veterans, active-duty military members, and their families. This fundraiser will run from now until November 15 at all Hy-Vee stores and Dollar Fresh Market stores in its eight-state region. Hy-Vee will match all customer donations up to $100,000, with all proceeds going to Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, American Red Cross, and the Puppy Jake Foundation.
Hiring Heroes, an initiative by Hy-Vee, actively recruits veterans and active-duty military personnel to join the Hy-Vee team and its subsidiaries. The company provides veterans with specific benefits, including a paid day off on Veterans Day, relocation assistance, and hiring bonuses, depending on eligibility.
