Alliance Lockdown Update

On Wednesday, December 6th, the Alliance High School briefly went into a secure status out of an abundance of caution.

***Lockdown Notice****

Today in the afternoon, an Alliance High School Administrator at the Alliance High School was notified that a student had a firearm in their backpack.

The Alliance High School was immediately placed into lockdown following the Standard Response Protocol and contacting law enforcement. The Alliance Police Department responded along with the Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

The student was located and detained without incident. The firearm was located and the student was removed from the school.

AHS Staff and Law enforcement cleared the building. The Alliance High School was in the process of being released from the lockdown when a second suspect with a potential second gun was identified.

The school was placed into a second lockdown. Law enforcement investigated the second suspect and this was unfounded. The school resumed operations as normal.
