Torrington Senior Santa?

It looks like the Torrington Police Department has put together a nice little season of giving promotion!

It’s the season for giving! For the past couple of years, the Torrington Police Department has worked together with the community to adopt a few senior citizens.

We contact each senior to see what items they may need to help make their lives a little easier. Once we have these lists, we purchase gifts, collect donations, and then wrap and distribute the gifts on Christmas Day.

We have received some wonderful donations so far but are still in need of the following items (or monetary donations so we are able to purchase):

• Sweat Pants (Men’s Medium, Women’s Medium)
• Electric Blanket (Full Size)
• T-Shirts (Men’s Medium)
• Gift Cards (Main Street Market, Fresh Foods, Walmart, Safeway)
• Electric Mobility Scooter (New or Used)
• Quilts (full size, double size)
• Bath Robe (Women’s Medium)
• Front Zip Sweatshirt (Women’s Medium)
• Pajamas (Women’s Medium)
• Stainless Steel InstaPot Liner (8 quart size)
• Shower Curtain
• Men’s Jeans (Size 36×34 and 36×32)
• Western Snap-Button Shirts (Men’s Large)
• Men’s Cotton Socks
• Long-Sleeve Flannel Shirts (Men’s XL)

Donations can be dropped off at our Dispatch window at the Torrington Police Department.

Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far! We greatly enjoy making these seniors smile when we deliver gifts on Christmas morning, and we couldn’t do this without the help of our gracious and wonderful community!
