A cold front followed by possible rain/snow showers expected late this afternoon through mid-day Sunday.

Precipitation will likely be all snow in southeast Wyoming, but brief rain or rain/snow mix showers are possible in the Nebraska panhandle if they develop earlier this afternoon.

Accumulations are still expected to be anywhere from a trace to 3 inches.

❄️Here’s your probability of a “White Christmas” aka 1″ of snowfall or greater image for the upcoming winter weather we expect to begin on Saturday afternoon/evening.

⏲️ Expect light snow showers to spread from west to east, with most areas seeing a start time near 5PM – 8PM Saturday. Areas closest to the CO state line could see light rain showers initially, before changing to snow.

🎄Most areas will see light snowfall amounts on trees and grass by Sunday afternoon, but some locations under more organized snow bands may see 1-3 inches by Sunday evening .

🌬️ Blowing snow will become present by Sunday morning, with areas east of I-25 into the NE Panhandle seeing the strongest wind gusts of 25-35mph at times.

Winter Weather headline decisions will be made during the Friday night to Saturday morning forecast update as there still remains some uncertainty to the forecast track. As a reminder, headlines during winter weather patterns are typically made within 12-24 hours of the beginning of an event.
