Extreme Makeover – The Great Disappearance Ch 9

Wouldn’t we all like to have “the perfect body”? Im not interested in looking amazing, but wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a body that never broke down? One that wasn’t plagued by the imperfections of age and ailments, sickness and senility?

Here’s some wonderful news: if you are a follower of Jesus, you will receive such a body! At some point in the future, you will upgrade your current model to one that is top-of-the-lilne in every respect!

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

Our new bodies will be incapable of sickness or death

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

Our new bodies will be identical to the body of the resurrected Jesus

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

Philippians 3:20-21

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Why should any of you consider it incredible that God raises the dead?
