The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) released their 8-14 Day Outlook for Temperatures and Precipitation this afternoon for 12 to 18 January.
The forecast for southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle is for much Below Normal temperatures and Above Normal precipitation during this timeframe. Long range guidance is showing a cold Canadian airmass sagging south into the northern plains into the central Rockies, that we’ll need to keep an eye on.

May be a good time to restock on heating fuel to prepare for these colder temperatures and above normal precipitation, if you’re runing low. Keep an eye on the forecast as we get closer to the middle of January.
CPC’s 6-10 Day Outlook is also showing well below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation for 10-14 January.

The weather forecast across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle this weekend into next week is calling for cold temperatures and unsettled weather. Our western mountains stand the best chance for almost daily light snow.

Unsettled and cold weather expected to continue into next week. Lower elevations may see snow Wednesday as another cold front moves into the area from the north. Stay warm!
