MORRILL, Neb. — North Platte Dispatch received a report on the morning of January 26th, 2024.
This is an update from our previous post:
At 9:30 a.m., scanner traffic indicated a possible standoff with a suspect who had pulled a knife. By 10:19 a.m. an update was heard that the subject was not at home. Subject was spotted in Morrill and an arrest made with no incident in a Morrill hardware store at 10:21 a.m. The knife was in the subject’s possession at the time of the arrest.

Subject was Alden Hill, 49 of Morrill, who has been charged with terroristic threats, use of weapon to commit a felony, Sex Offender Registry violation, possible weapon by prohibited person, concealed weapon, and drug charges.
The incident started at the Souix County Feedlot where Hill allegedly threatened two people with a knife. Souix County Sherriff’s office responded and the search began for Hill.
Hill was convicted in Dec of 2001 of 1st Degree Sexual Assault, which gave him a spot on the Sex Offender Registry. Alden Hill is scheduled for an arraignment today at Scotts Bluff County Courthouse.
All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Panhandle Scanner has been in contact with a woman who has refused to give her identity, but does assure us that the subject above was registered and had served his time (in reference to the SOR violation).
We appreciate the input and welcome factual background information. As in most cases, the original charges can be reduced or dropped in accordance with what the judge decides. In this case, we simply reported the original charges, and his past record.
We want to remind the public that we simply report public information as acquired legally, and that all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
