Lincoln County Jail Emergency

By Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office

**Jail Disturbance – Feb. 2, 2024**

On Friday Evening, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies declared a jail emergency, due to two separate Offenders threatening violence against Deputies and disrupting jail operations.

Each Offender was in a separate area of the Jail, which caused additional processes to be employed, this resulted in a full lockdown protocol. Deputies were able to quickly isolate each Offender from others and safely remove them to other locations, without harm to anyone.

These Offenders will meet with Jail Supervisors in the coming days for a full review and potential violation hearings.

Exceptional work was done by Deputy Sheriff John Lampman, Deputy Sheriff Abby Johnson, Deputy Sheriff Bryson Winterberg, Deputy Sheriff Lane Elliott, Deputy Sheriff Josh Johnson, Deputy Sheriff Cianne Shinee, Corporal Jesus Ortiz, and Sergeant Dustin Cunningham.

These Deputies were able to safeguard everyone in the facility and ultimately diffuse a potentially violent and dangerous situation.
