Non-Emergency 911 Backup Numbers

Update on 911 outage: Panhandle Scanner is told that a fiber line servicing the 911 trunk system was cut. We have heard that this is affecting many states across the U.S.

Reports from SD, IA, NE, WI, TX, FL, and Nevada are without services.

With the recent 911 and landline outages, many people were asking for backup emergency numbers.

Therefore, we have compiled a list of area non-emergency numbers by County below.

The Buffalo County/City of Kearney
Emergency Call Center is experiencing an interruption in 911 phone service. If you are unable to call 911 use one of these alternate numbers. 308-237-2424 or 308-455-1501. All non-emergency numbers appear to be functioning.

DAWSON COUNTY: is having 911 issues. Verizon is not working and us cellular maps but does not ring.
Their police departments in the county are also down.
As of right now if you need assistance please call or text 308-324-3011

***911 Service Outage***- 911 services within Dundy County and surrounding areas are currently down. Callers will receive a busy signal when dialing 911. The service provider for 911 services in the state of Nebraska are working diligently to restore service. If there is any emergencies please call the administrative line at 308-423-2393

If you need 911 in FRONTIER COUNTY and can’t get through, please call
308-367-4411 with emergencies!

Furnas County 911 is part of a statewide outage. If you need to call 911 please use the number 308-268-2245.

Hooker Co or anyone out of Keith County dispatch, Please call (308) 284-2011.

Verizon customers are currently unable to call 911. If you are experiencing an emergency in Lincoln County or the City of North Platte or Gothenburg call 308-535-6789.

Sounds like the 911 outage is statewide and into at least South Dakota too.

Currently, mysterious widespread outages are occurring across the nation, including the whole state of South Dakota and Nebraska, parts of Nevada, Texas, Iowa, Florida, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. Officials report major disruptions in 911 services, preventing emergency calls from getting through. The cause of this outage remains unknown at this time as officials are actively investigating. This situation is still developing with more outages occurring.
