Friday’s Weather Forecast

Here’s your Friday weather outlook from the National Weather Service out of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

By NWS Cheyenne

The potential for accumulating snow has increased across the southern panhandle into portions of the sandhills and southwest Nebraska. The greatest potential is from Hwy 61 westward, and there is a tight gradient in accumulations, so any eastward shift will bring higher amounts further into southwest Nebraska. Expect travel impacts from late Saturday morning onward, including along I-80 from Ogallala westward. Thankfully, strong winds and very cold temperatures will not be a factor with this system.

Your daytime high forecast includes 30s and 40s for most of the forecast region and colder temperatures in the teens and 20s for the mountains on Friday. Snow showers will expand in coverage across the Front Range and High Plains of Colorado by Friday afternoon and move north and east into the I-80 corridor of southeast Wyoming by late afternoon and evening hours.

Winter Storm Watch

As a reminder, Winter Storm Watches are in effect from the I-80 Summit to portions of the southern Nebraska Panhandle beginning Friday afternoon.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for eastern Albany County, Laramie County, and Kimball County from 5PM Friday through 11PM Saturday.

❄ Snow accumulations of 5-8 inches are expected. Heaviest snow expected to fall during the day Saturday.

☃️ Included are two additional graphics showing the probability of 1 inch of snow and 6 inches of snow for the area.
