Warning From State Fire Marshall

From State Fire Marshal Scott Cordes:

I want to bring to your attention that last night (2-08-24) a SPAM email was sent out to fire departments in the State. We don’t fully know the scope but there is a good chance it went to all fire departments.

The hacker took information from the SFM Website (banner, logo, and information extracted from the searchable database for fire department contact information).

The email directs the recipient to click on a link to update their information or their license will be revoked. The email was labeled 2024 Fire Department Contact Information Verification and came from an outside email address.

This is NOT an email from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and you should not click on any link in the message.

I recommend that you place the message in your Junk folder and block the sender. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
