PRESS RELEASE from Lexington Police Department
At approximately 6:15 p.m., Lexington Police Officers responded to an adult male subject that appeared to be passed out lying next to a building in an alley in the 100 block of west 6th Street in Lexington. Upon arrival, Officers along with Lexington Fire and Rescue determined the subject to be deceased.
The scene was processed by the Lexington Police Department. The investigation has revealed the 39-year-old male was not from the United States but was homeless in the Lexington area for the past one to two months. He has been identified but his identity is still being withheld pending family notification. The Lexington Police Department is actively searching for any family.
Evidence at the scene coupled with preliminary autopsy findings suggest rear head injuries, presumedly from a backwards fall. No foul play is suspected. The Lexington Police Department continues to conduct follow-up investigation into this unfortunate incident.
