Pine Ridge Ranch Fire

(FT. LARAMIE, Wyo.) – On Monday, June 24, Fort Laramie Fire was called to Pine Ridge Ranch for a grass fire. Crews from all across the county were called in for mutual aid, including Lingle, Torrington, Yoder, Jay Em, La Grange, Prairie Center and Veteran. By 5:30 pm, Pine Ridge Ranch was evacuated and 2 SEAT’S from Casper Tanker Base were launched over the fire by 6:10 pm.

Tuesday mornings report shared by Goshen County Emergency Management said “Fire Crews worked throughout the night cutting hand lines and doing fire suppression. Our containment is still undetermined and crews are currently battling sporadic flare-ups all over the perimeter. The estimated area stands at 1,289 acres as of 10am.”

The fire crews worked long hours and were shown support in several ways. Local residents and community businesses came to the rescue with coolers, drinks and ice, meals and other necessities.

Every volunteer wot fought the fire and who worked to support them is to be commended.

At 10:56 am on Wednesday, June 26th, Fort Laramie Volunteer Fire Department reported that the fire was 100% contained.

We want to thank The Fort Laramie Bar and Grill for the multiple donations of lunch and dinner as well as water and ice, Fort Laramie Country Church for the breakfast burritos, the Saul family with Ty’s Pitt Stop, Guernsey Market place for the chips, Domino’s for the pizza the first night as well as all the businesses and community members that donated items and time to the cause.

We also want to thank Lingle Fire Department, Torrington Fire Department, Prairie Center Fire Department, Jay Em Fire Department, Veteran Fire Department, Yoder Fire Department, Hawk Springs Fire Department, LaGrange Fire Department, Guernsey Fire Department, Hartville Fire Department, State Forestry, BLM, Smokebusters and airborne tankers that came in to support and assist as well as the Smokebusters and the aircraft. We could not have done this without you.
