Teen Survives 40 Foot Plummet

(CLARKSON, Neb.) — Clarkson teen hospitalized after crash causing vehicle to plummet 40 feet down an embankment. 

A 17-year-old boy in Stanton County is recovering after crashing his SUV on Monday, according to deputies. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Highway 57, about nine miles south of Stanton.

The teenager from Clarkson was driving south when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed into the northbound lane, and crashed through a cable guardrail, tumbling 40 feet down a steep embankment, as reported by the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
