Jerry Drive Arson Arrest

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) – Kendra Horrocks, 26, of Scottsbluff, has been charged with first-degree arson, which is a Class II felony.

The original scanner post from Monday, August 19 at around 11:30 pm read:

Scanner traffic indicated a possible structure fire at 85 Jerry Drive, Scottsbluff. Regional 2 (SFD) responded while units searched for the suspect down East Overland.

Further traffic indicated a female who started the fire, was seen walking down 16th Street wearing a ball cap.

Also reported at least one victim with smoke inhalation and serious lacerations being transported to Regional West Medical Center.

A resident of the home, identified as Horrock’s father, was able to put out the fire before firefighters arrived. The female resident reported that her stepdaughter had started the fire in her bedroom and left.

Investigators reported observed burn marks on the side of the trailer near an open bedroom window with an air conditioner and items in the bedroom were damaged by the fire. No other areas of the residence were damaged.

When Ms. Horrocks returned to the home at approximately 4:00 am, officers were called back to the scene. They questioned her and eventually arrested her. Kendra Horrocks is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Horrocks is scheduled to appear Friday in Scotts Bluff County Court for arraignment.
