Scanner News for Friday August 23, 2024

It’s time for Panhandle Scanner News, I’m your host, Brian Hale.

Alright let’s take a look at some headlines for Friday, August 23rd. Lots of activity coming up here in the next couple of weeks. We’re just days away from the Horizon Fest. (FREE!) It all kicks off Saturday, August 31st at 4.15pm when Remedy Drive takes the stage, followed by Leanna Crawford and Blanca and Rhett Walker taking the stage at 9pm. And then on Sunday, it all starts with an 11am worship. And other surprise activities before Chase and Company take the stage at 4.15, followed up by Rare of Breed, Colton Dixon and Skillet. Arguably one of the most popular Christian bands in the history of music.

Let me just say this, if you think Christian music is going to be a bunch of kumbaya, you need to come to Skillet and rock with us.

Before all that happens, we have the Beef, Beans and Bluegrass Festival happening tomorrow, Saturday, August 24th, 10am to 10pm, downtown Scottsbluff. That’s the Beef, Beans and Bluegrass Festival.

In Scanner News, the Lexington Police Department is investigating a missing runaway juvenile. 15 year old Mariana Anderson is 5’7″, 150 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. Find her picture and more about this missing person case on our Facebook page.

Did you know that the Kimball Nebraska Police Department recently held an active shooter drill with the assistance of Scotts Bluff County CERT. We appreciate the training they go through to keep the public safe.

Also don’t forget our public record every Monday through Friday when available with Daily Jail rosters, inmate search tools, daily specials from our sponsor Main Street Market, recent arrests and arraignments and court appearances.

All available at https://panhandlescanner.com.

Thanks again for listening and may God bless.
I’m Brian Hale.
