Scottsbluff 2 Vehicle MVA

UPDATE : Names released of those involved. Buford and Benita Williams of Scottsbluff perished in the fatal accident, while Tony Betancur of Mitchell was treated at RWMC for his injuries and released.

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. ) — At approximately 3:30 pm, scanner traffic and eye witnesses reported a 2 vehicle accident at Highway 26 and Avenue I. A semi driver stopped to assist.

A Mazda pickup rolled on its side and lost a tire. (Even though we have photos showing four tires still on the Mazda.) One witness said the tire almost hit their vehicle when they were stopped at the light. Maybe it was a spare tire in the bed of the pickup. At this point we are not sure where the extra tire came from.

Full trauma team was activated for three patients. An older couple in a white Nissan Versa, were reported as “breathing but unresponsive.” An older man was in a black Mazda who needed a prolonged extrication.

One patient was transported to RWMC, alert but unable to answer any questions at the time. 

Please steer clear and pray for those involved.

We never know the result of these accidents, so it is extremely difficult to know how much to post.
