Blue Valentine Inducted

(AMARILLO, Texas) — Over the last 30 years in broadcasting, we have had the pleasure of interviewing both the Dunn’s and the Merritt’s, as well as the Van Pelt’s and Sam Shoultz too. All four are hall of famers and are well acquainted with Mr. Valentine.

Induction into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame represents the pinnacle of achievement in the Quarter Horse industry, honoring individuals and horses whose contributions have shaped the breed’s history.

Congratulations, Blue Valentine!

The American Quarter Horse Association writes this about Blue Valentine for his induction, “Blue Valentine, a blue roan stallion with Joe Hancock lineage, was born in the 1950s. Despite siring only 210 registered American Quarter Horses, his influence on the breed is still felt nearly 70 years later. Known for passing on speed, good bone, a gentle disposition, longevity, and cow sense, Blue Valentine’s legacy endures through multiple generations.”

The Dunn family presented the Merrits with a great cake with a picture of the stallion, Blue Valentine, who was inducted into the American Quarterhorse Hall of Fame.

“The Merritt family owned Blue Valentine for much of his life in Wyoming.  The Merritt family was honored at the ceremony in Amarillo inducting Blue Valentine, which I attended with them. Quite an honor.” – Diane Van Pelt
