UPDATE : According to Sheridan County Emergency Management, no further trucks are needed. Critters have been removed safely and that operation has ceased.
According to Edward Hinzman, the Public Health Response Coordinator at Sheridan County Public Health, Sheridan Fairgrounds are sheltering stock and pets. Check elkfirewyo.com and scroll down for help needed and offers of help.
The fire has already destroyed two homes. Crews have struggled against strong winds, rough and remote terrain and unpredictable fire behavior, among other things.

Currently the fire has destroyed 72,998 Acres and is 10% Contained. Dayton, a town of about 900, is in a “set” status, meaning residents need to be prepared to evacuate if the status is moved to “go.”
Sheridan County Sheriff’s office asks the public to please stay out of any designated closed areas.

Some folks are saying there is no end in sight and that evacuations will continue.
