Giving Back To The Community

(GERING, Neb.) — On Friday, December 20, local businesses participated in the Catpack & Puppack programs by delivering Christmas dinner boxes to local schools. They delivered 195 meals to participating families.

Johnson Cashway and Design center lead the delivery efforts and posted photos on their facebook page.

Delivering Christmas meals to the Scottsbluff and Gering backpack programs is a meaningful way to give back to the community. It was a joy to be a part of this project and we would like to thank these local companies for joining us in providing the meals. The Catpack/PupPack helps students in Scottsbluff/Gering Community receive food for the weekends. The backpack program is a collaborative effort of the Scottsbluff and Gering Schools and the Cooperative Ministry Council, a 501 (c)(3) charity, and all funds are raised and administered by the Council. 100% of money donated to the program goes to buy food for the backpacks.

The backpack program can receive Venmo donations @catpuppacks. Please note that Venmo will take 1.9% + 0.10 out of each donation to cover fees.
