(LEXINGTON, Neb.) — On Saturday, December 21, 2024, at approximately 6:58 p.m., Lexington Police Officers responded to a male subject in a stalled vehicle near the intersection of 13th Street and Park Street in Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska. According to 911 reports, there was blood inside and outside of the vehicle and the male subject was in and out of consciousness.
Upon arrival, Officers were forced to break out the passenger side window of the vehicle as all doors were locked. Officer observed a severe wound on the left bicep area of the male subject. As he was removed from the vehicle by rescue personnel, it was learned he had suffered from what appeared to be several stab wounds in the left side torso and thigh areas. He was transported to the Lexington Regional Hospital and shortly thereafter flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with life threatening injuries.
Officers soon learned that the altercation had taken place at a residence in the 100 block of West 10 Street in Lexington and learned the identity of a possible suspect. Officers arrived at that location and observed blood evidence in the front yard as well as a fairly heavy blood trail leading down the street to the east of the residence.
Based on evidence at the scene and statements from witnesses, Officers placed 27-year-old Lexington man, Arley Ibarra- Rodriguez into custody. He was subsequently interviewed and booked in to the Dawson County Jail on suspicion of First-Degree Assault, and Use of a Weapon to commit a Felony.
The Lexington Police Department was assisted by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Lexington Rescue, Priority Medical and the Kearney Police Department. This case remains an active investigation.
