(MINATARE, Neb.) — On Monday, January 6, Panhandle Scanner posted scanner traffic indicating a possible accidental shooting a little after 5:30 p.m..

Scanner traffic indicated a possible shooting accident at Cheyenne Ridge Outfitters just east of Minatare. Please pray for everyone involved. One female was transported to the hospital.
Additional information from other followers indicated that a round went off when it was dropped. This information was not corroborated and further details have not been released at this time.
A press release from Nebraska Game and Parks Commission released today, Jan 8, 2024, states that conservation officers are now investigating the hunting incident.
Jeff Clauson, Game and Parks law enforcement administrator, said the 24-year-old woman was shot by another member of the hunting party and later treated for non-life-threatening injuries in Scottsbluff.
