Trooper Killed on I-80

The Nebraska State Patrol is mourning the tragic loss of Trooper Kyle McAcy #302, who gave his life in the line of duty this morning while assisting motorists who had been involved in a crash on Interstate 80 near Ashland.

Trooper McAcy has been a dedicated Trooper for 10 years and an incredible friend to countless people. Please keep his family, friends, colleagues, and all who have the honor of knowing him in your hearts following this unimaginable loss.

In the coming days, there will be opportunities for members of the public to pay their respects and to send love to Trooper McAcy’s family. Those details are forthcoming.

The Nebraska State Patrol is heartbroken to announce that a Trooper has been killed in the line of duty today.

The incident involved a motor vehicle crash while the Trooper and others were responding to another crash on I-80 between Ashland and Greenwood.
