Cooperative Effort

(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — The flexibility and versatility of our local fire department is on display again. Serving the community is oftentimes a cooperative effort between various agencies and companies.

Here’s a recent story from the Scottsbluff Fire Department.

Normally we respond to the needs of the community, but today, we needed the help.

As the on duty shift was performing some routine maintenance on one of our Engines, they had to lift the cab, which requires the Engine to be moved outdoors.

Unfortunately there was some hardware that failed resulting the cab being stuck in the upright position.

Fortunately for us, the guys at Panhandle Diesel and Ron’s Towing were willing to brave the bitter cold temperatures to assist us in safely removing the failed hardware and safely lowering the cab, and we can’t thank them enough!

We definitely value the working relationships we have built with the companies we have worked with over the years, because there are just some things we can’t do without them!

While the failed hardware is being repaired, we are also glad to say that this Engine is still in service, however, worse case scenario, we do have other apparatuses that can be placed in service at anytime, to respond to the needs of the community.
