Baby Gideon’s Killer Sentenced

(SCOTTS BLUFF COUNTY, Neb.) — Green was arrested on March 13, 2024 after his girlfriend’s child was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

“The amount of injury to Gideon would be on par to having the child put in a clothes dryer and it turned on,” a doctor commenting on Baby Gideon’s condition. 1 year old Gideon Lockwood suffered fatal injuries to his brain, eyes, and spinal cord.

On July 25, 2024, Tyler Green, 31, plead not guilty to intentional child abuse resulting in death charges, a Class 1B Felony and was held on a $1 million bond. A trial date was tentatively set for October 2024.

On Wednesday, November 21, 2024, Green entered a plea of no contest to an amended Class II felony charge of Attempted Intentional Child Abuse Resulting in Death, down from a Class IB felony. He waived his right to have a trial.

A presentence investigation was ordered and the Court set sentencing for February 7, 2025, at 9:00 AM.

Nearly a year later, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Green was finally back in court. District Judge Leo Dobrovolny sentenced Green to 40 to 50 years in prison.

  1. He should get the death penalty. That baby had to endure horrible pain at this low life’s hands. Being related to Mark Overman is the reason there was a plea deal at all. Total bullshit.
