(YORK, Neb.) — This weekend, a York County Sheriff deputy conducted a traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue in York for a traffic violation. During the stop, the deputy observed multiple deadly weapons in plain view of the vehicle. Throughout the traffic stop, it was discovered that the passenger was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing deadly weapons as outlined in Nebraska Revised Statute.

A subsequent search of his person uncovered a meth pipe along with a small baggie of methamphetamine. The passenger, identified as James M. Rystrom, was arrested for the following charges:
- Possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person
- Possession of a controlled substance (meth)
- Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony
