(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — An accident on East 7th Street and 11th Avenue involving a DUI 19-year-old driver sent two to the hospital before being arrested.
An Offical News Release was issued the next morning, Sunday, May 25th at 9:30 a.m. from Scottsbluff Police Department.

On May 24, 2025, at approximately 9:59 PM, Officers from the Scottsbluff Police Department responded to the area of East 7th Street and 11th Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle striking a residence.
Upon arrival, Officers located a 2010 gray Chrysler 300 that had crashed into a utility pole on the south side of East 7th Street at the southwest corner of intersection with 11th Avenue. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Alvaro Pacheco of Scottsbluff. An 18-year-old passenger, Joslyn Campos, also of Scottsbluff, was also located at the scene.
Through investigation, Officers determined that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. Pacheco was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. Campos was arrested for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and False Reporting. Both individuals were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and subsequently booked into the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage and is suspected to be a total loss. The collision caused significant damage to a utility pole and a nearby chain-link fence. As a result of the crash, several residents in the area experienced a temporary power outage. East 7th Street was partially closed for approximately one hour and twenty minutes while emergency crews worked the scene.
Assisting agencies included the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska Public Power District, and the Scottsbluff Fire Department.
The Scottsbluff Police Department reminds all residents of the dangers and consequences of impaired driving.
