(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) – On Saturday, July 26th there was an accident involving a motorcycle that blocked the westbound lane of 27th St. in Scottsbluff. Our original post is as follows.

According to scanner traffic, there is a accident with injury near McDonalds. (Van vs Motorcycle) EMT’s on the way. Individual currently under van. According to first responders, he is alert and talking, but called for a partial trauma team. They were able to get him safely out from under the van and transporting to the hospital.
Please stay clear of all emergency vehicles and make sure if you are near, slow down and give them space.

The Scottsbluff Police Department posted a press release on the incident Sunday afternoon.
On 07/26/2025, at approximately 1331 hours, officers were dispatched to the McDonald’s Restaurant entrance for the report MVA involving a van and motorcycle. The motorcycle driver was reported injured. Officers arrived and met with both drivers. Jerry Hall Jr, 60 of Scottsbluff, was the driver of the van. Kevin McCathern Jr, 38 of Scottsbluff, was the driver of the motorcycle. Hall was eastbound on W. 27th St. Hall entered the middle turn lane. Hall turned north into the McDonald’s Restaurant parking lot. McCathern was westbound on W. 27th St. in the right-hand lane. The front of the motorcycle collided with the passenger’s side of the van. EMS/Fire arrived and assisted SPD officers. McCathern was transported to RWMC for non-life-threatening injuries. Charges are pending until surveillance footage is reviewed.
