(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — A fatal accident occurred on Highway 26 West of Scottsbluff on Thursday morning when a Red Chevy Truck pulled out in front of a Mazda, causing the truck to flip, killing the driver.
Lyle Downs, 83, of Scottsbluff, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Nebraska State Patrol is investigating. Please pray for the victim and his family and friends and the community as well as everyone involved.

** Major Accident **
Scanner traffic is indicating a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Highway 26 in Scottsbluff. (CR 19) We’re working on getting the exact location. Watch out for accidents anywhere on 26 please. One eyewitness sent this message, “One hot red pickup In the cab and flipped it on the top other car in south ditch by train tracks.”
Another said “It’s to the west of the overpass. Traffic going both ways is being rerouted.”
Please stay clear the area and pray for those involved.
Road will be blocked for a short time. They are calling for drone deployment for accident reconstruction.
