DUI Arrest in Bridgeport

(BRIDGEPORT, Neb.) — A Bridgeport woman found herself in a heap of trouble after ignoring a Sheriff’s deputy. The Morrill County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement.

On August 22, 2025, at approximately 1:18 a.m., a Morrill County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, nearly 20 MPH over the posted speed limit, southbound on the 700 block of Main Street in Bridgeport. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle initially failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens before eventually coming to a stop.

Deputies made contact with the driver and observed several signs of impairment consistent with narcotics use. The driver admitted to taking several narcotics that were not prescribed to her. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a controlled substance along with the additional narcotics not prescribed to the driver.

Throughout the investigation, deputies established that Margret A. Cain was driving under the influence of drugs. Cain was transported to the Morrill County Jail and booked for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs along with other drug related charges, as well as several traffic offenses including speeding and failing to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
