(SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb.) — Domingo Gomez, III (37) of Scottsbluff, appeared in court Friday, August 29 for a bond reduction on multiple charges of assault, disturbing the peace and terroristic threats.

On July 7, 2025, The Communication Center dispatched Officer Weatherman with the Scottsbluff Police department the area of 17th Street and 10th in Scottsbluff. The reporting party was inside their vehicle and a male was using a windshield wiper as a weapon.

The reporting party stated that a male was acting erratically when he approached the driver’s side door attempting to open it, stating “I’m going to kill you”. When he was unable to enter the vehicle, he punched the side mirror. He then broke off the rear windshield wiper and attempted to pryopen the rear door.

According to affidavits, Weatherman observed a male standing in the middle of 17th Street directly adjacent to the described vehicle. As he approached, the male took off north bound on 10th Ave. While pursuing, he gave loud clear comments to get on the ground and lay on his stomach, to which the male initially complied. However, when he was instructed to place his hands behind his back, he stood up and turned towards Weatherman.

With an assist from Corporal Yocum, they were able to arrest and escort the subject to the patrol vehicle, but not without some resistance from Gomez, who was identified shortly thereafter.

Damage to the top corner of the door was consistent with attempted report and a detached windshield wiper was lying in the roadway next to the vehicle.

While processing at the Scotts Bluff Detention Center, Gomez continued adding to his charges by assaulting correction officers. According to the affidavit, SBDC video showed that Gomez pushed out of his cell as Corrections Officer Beebee tried to secure him. That’s when Corrections Officer Todd took Gomez to the ground. In the video, you could see Gomez kick Beebee in the head 8 times as Beebee attempted to secure Gomez’ legs.

Gomez in total acquired the charges of:

  • Terroristic threats
  • Obstructing Peace officer
  • Resisting arrest
  • Disturbing the peace
  • Criminal mischief
  • Possession of MJ
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Assault on officer
  • Assault on officer

Gomez was arraigned on July 9 and appeared in court Friday, August 29 for a bond reduction, down from $300,000/10% to $149,000/10%. He will reappear on 10-15-25 for pre trial hearing.
